Online PD

In 2018, my colleagues and I designed a fully asynchronous opportunity for teachers to become Level 1 Google Certified Educators and become more familiar with Google Tools. Our course still runs today as a series of three courses over a 12 week period that reviews 12 core Google applications. To date, over 500 teachers and staff members participate in the course.

Technology Strategic planning

Technology Strategic Planning

As the co-chair of the Technology Strategic Planning committee, I collaborated with a variety of district and community stakeholders to devise goals, action items and timelines for reaching goals over the next five years. Our team continues to meet to implement new initiatives, evaluate, and reflect on goal implementation after their completion.

Here is an example of a strategic planning infographic I designed for the district.

Tech night

Tech Night

Tech Night is a community event that aims to share the exciting technology improvements and implementations in our district. Three main areas allow the community to attend and browse around the teacher implementation tables, the robotics room and speak to career professionals currently working in technology roles. We even had food trucks to feed the hungry masses and encourage visitors to stay and meet many of the teachers and leaders in the district.

Check out our YouTube video below to see interviews and a first hand look at this exciting event.

Remote & Hybrid Learning Support

Remote & Hybrid Learning Support

When the 2020 pandemic began and continued, it  became important for our team to become flexible in offering online and remote learning support. Our district was able to purchase a variety of new platform licenses and I coordinated and designed all new platform training district wide. In order to make access to learning efficient and effective, our team developed a collection of HyperDocs that would allow staff to learn new programs at their own pace. Here is an example of one of the Hyperdocs below.

the engagement challenge

The Engagement Challenge

As the pandemic continued, it became clear that teachers and students needed a morale boost and some new ideas to stay fresh, excited and enthusiastic about a tough year. I developed a choice board challenge called the "HTSD Engagement Challenge" to encourage staff to try new ideas in their classrooms. Together with the Instructional Technology Team and the Curriculum Supervisors, we quickly shared many ideas to engage students in learning. Teachers could submit their activity and reflect on the experience for a chance to win an Amazon gift card donated by the Hamilton Educational Foundation. We were able to pick 14 total winners over the month of March! We received over 130 submissions and a ton of positive comments from the staff district wide.
